Always one of the most popular events at the Bala
2016 winner, eleven-year-old Madison Searle from Huntsville.
Madison, who fell in love with the story of Anne of
Green Gables at an early age, impressed Cran-Anne

knowledge of the book but even more so with her infectious
enthusiasm. Marg Dunford, a former school librarian/teacher
and long-time Bala cottager, said later she almost
felt as if she was talking to Anne.
